View From Within
Everyone shoots photos of glaciers so I thought I'd take one from a different perspective; from the inside looking out.

Great amazing picture. I directly had Ice Age, the movie, in my mind. (I have two kids at home here..)
Gary Minish  Unfortunately its more like Ice Age beating a fast retreat :-(

Thank you for commenting, Eppo!

What a view! Great colours and depth. I can also see the profile Angela is talking about below, very nice.
Gary Minish  Thanks, Ingrid. I'm glad you enjoyed the landscape. I'm sure the Iceman appreciates the recognition also :-)

... It looks also very dangerous, Gary!
Gary Minish  It wasn't a huge risk, Paolo. This portion of the toe of the glacier isn't on a very steep slope so there's not a lot of activity. The bad news is that its because the glacier has melted back over half a mile and lost over 200 ft in depth in just my lifetime :-(

Beautiful image, and very good idea. You make me miss my crampons.
Gary Minish  I appreciate your comment, Alexandre. Sorry to hear you've been seperated from your crampons :-)
very cool shot! The first thing I see is a profile of a man viewing his cold and harsh existence. Do you see him?
Gary Minish  Thanks, Anagela and yes, I have recognized the profile also. He has a chin, a nose and a very prominent eyebrow. Kind of like an ice-cave man!
