Rovinj
Because there was not much light on the row of houses, I used my maglight-torch to bright them up.

Hmmm, what torch exactly? Your photography is outstanding anyway. Croatia as well. Maybe I should visit this country someday. Cheers! :)

Since I'm from Rovinj and live there, I have the competence to say ;) that this is really a good photo of my hometown. Rovinj is a beautiful touristic town and it has been photographed millions of times (I myself have photographed it thousand of times :)), but a night shot like this has never been done as far as I know.
Good job!
Harald Bildner  thank you. Rovinj is a really beautiful place. I hope it can keep its charme and doesn't get over beautified for all touristic interests.
dalibor  I'm afraid towns like these don't have a chance of staying pure, simple and over beautified.
With the free market and the money from the EU, the houses are being sold and Rovinj is slowly becoming like similar "famous" and beautiful towns on the Mediterranean: dead weekend ghost towns...

the place is called ROVINJ, but anyway nice shot! :)
Harald Bildner  Thanks Darko, I could swear this place was called rovinjo/rovinje, but obviously you are right. So I changed the name.

Very beautiful and well-lit picture. I love the tone of the sky - much better than a complete darkness... ;-)

Just for you don't missunderstood! Of course there was allready a little light on theese houses. I used the torche only to add some more light especially to the houses on the right hand side. As long as you can see the effect on the wall you also can see it on the capture. Harry

Very inspiring technique with a great result
Harald Bildner  try it, its good fun. With new torch evolutions, like the newest bike-lamps, you can probably even brighten up the moon.. :-))

Great scene Harry - that's one hell of a mag light =:)))
Harald Bildner  Thanks Kevin. Yes its one of this supersize Maglite's, with selfdefending function included :-) I guess with an 15 sec. exposure time like here, you could even brighten up the whole NYC skyline.

What a wonderful photo. Congratulations! And what a great idea to bright the houses up with your torch. One of my new favorites. This mood is so great.
Harald Bildner  Thanks Klaus for adding it to your favorites. It took me nearly the whole yesterday afternoon, to make it look as you can see it now. I'm glad you like it.
