Scott, this is a wonderful photo that draws the viewer in. The framing is fantastic, as well as the lighting. Nicely done!
Scott Crouse  Thank you so much Olivia. Sorry I haven't been over to visit your site lately. There is much going on in my life (unfortunately not good) these days and have been very sidetracked as of late. I'll drop you an e-mail sometime when it's quiet. thanks again!

It's a man's world. Great!
Scott Crouse  Not sure what you mean by a man's world in regards to the image Ivan? Sorry I must be missing something, but no worries :) Thanks for the comment, appreciate it!

What a wonderful documentary image with so much feeling. This is natural, real and convincing. That gentle touch of the glove to uncover the name below the snow. Touching and moving.
The image could be cropped slightly on the right and top hand sides. Just to move in a nudge and balance it up a little.
Still a great image!
/Thomas
Scott Crouse  Thanks Thomas, I was actually more worried about the cropping on the left, only having half a grave marker and I didn't look to the right. Still trying to learn the best way to crop for the effect. Thanks for the excellent advice!
Thomas Ljungberg  One could argue and say that the half cross would be disturbing and that you should crop between them. To me, the way you cropped now is perfect. It leaves you with the impression that row of grave markers continue, that there could be more. The number of persons resting here is uncertain. It opens up for the viewers interpretations and questions. So the half cross is very important IMO.

But the are to the right does not really add to the image. To me it makes it a little unbalanced. A crop somewhere in the middle between the mans back and the frame could work. You need to try it out yourself.

Great mood!
Scott Crouse  Thanks Alberto. The mood at the entire ceremony was somber, but trying to catch that was tough, this was the 1 shot that caught it.

Scott Crouse  Thanks Allen.

This really really made an impression on me, so sad, such strong mood in the immage. Well done.
Scott Crouse  Thank you Rasmus. It was a rather sullen ceremony. It's located on the end of a runway high in the arctic, so the silence surrounding the site really adds to the mood when your there, so people react with quite the emotion.

This image caught my attention in screening.
I think you really managed to capture the mood here, Scott.
A picture that tells a sad story..
Well done, I'm glad to see it published :)
Scott Crouse  Thank you Daria! After so long not being published it was nice to find this gem that had feeling and a story. I knew when I took the shot I had something special but I hesitated as it was fairly close to home. Just to the side of this shot is another memorial for the 5 who died during a crash near this location in 1991. Fortunately all who I knew onboard survived, but it hits close to home.
