Dust Storm
This picture was taken under a severe dust storm. Visibility was really short. Particles of sand provided the grainy effect themselves. This image has no post processing besides a slight levels adjustment in raw.

A vey interesting picture, giving a strange atmosphere, specialy for the two men on the bottom right side, in the middle of this sand storm, littles with the colosal pyramides on the background. Without the men the picture is just another picture of the pyramides. Perfect composition. Also it has an elderly mood.

Nice job!
David Rocaberti  Thanks Javier, I'm glad you see it that way

Robert Larson  hah! Your welcome. Are you a member and I'm just that out of touch?
David Rocaberti  Well, I'm not a member, at least not yet. I had a couple of talks with Gijs about that so I sent some images for consideration.
Robert Larson  If you don't get accepted I'll be shocked.
So that being said, I am not going to say good luck ;-)

Wow, this is really special! Hope you and your camera stayed alive ;)
David Rocaberti  Thanks Daria!

I saw the camel from the distance and I asked my driver to pull up for a while. I covered my camera with a plastic bag and I got literally dusted but it all worth when I knew I had the picture.

Wonderful, wonderful. Is it true that if you were to turn around, you'd see that you are on the edge of Cairo? Can you climb to the top of any of the pyrimids?
David Rocaberti  To tell you the truth, I don't really know if Cairo is visible from there. I came back there the following night when the storm was partially dissolved but the visibility was still quite short. Anyway, El Cairo is so huge that I guess it can be seen from Gizeh in clear sky weather conditions. The pyramids are no longer climbable. They used to be but not anymore...

Thanks for your interest, King!
David Rocaberti  Somebody else's image has the answer to your question but I think the houses on the left belong to Gizeh the nearest town. Anyway Gizeh is in the outskirts of Cairo
Beautiful! Happy to see it on the front page.
David Rocaberti  Thanks for voting for it, Angela. Your comments are highly appreciated!
