Fantastic image Jon. This has a lot of things going for it, but I love the detail in the wood grain, and the composition ever so slightly off centered, so the gentle curve takes my eyes around the image. Very peaceful image, thanks for sharing.

This is a gorgeous shot. The depth of field works really well with the timber grain and the uncluttered composition leads your eye to the only spot you'd want it to. It would have been a reasonably long exposure with that dof and available light I imagine - 2 or 3 minutes even depending on your ISO. Could you give any more details? And what is the golden glow on this side of the rails? The sun is setting in the other direction?
Great shot Jon. Well done.
Jon Swainson  Thanks Geoff :)

The exposure was around 3 and a half minutes (ISO 200) and the golden glow on the railing was caused by the light coming from street lights in the town behind me.
