Moonlit
To make a long story short...

I wanted to do a "lighthouse shot" by night, but I did not want this to be a shot in the dark, so to speak.
So I figured that I had to shoot it in the daytime, to get the lighting just right.
Also by shooting in the daytime I avoided those darned streetlights from the other side of the water.
I used a tripod and a Hoya r72 IR filter so I could operate with long exposures.
I wanted that sort of "misty" feel you get from shooting with ND filters, but I did not have one at the time.

Post processing:

Selenium tone, tone curve and lens vignetting in Adobe Lightroom.
Selective dodging and burning in
PS CS3 Extended.

Enjoy.

Wow! This is brilliantly done -- and magical in its ethereal feel. I'm going to go create a Favorite Landscapes album and make this its first entry!

Wonderful landscape work. I've never used that type of filter before, you have me thinking.
Jon-Eirik Boholm  Thank you.
There was a lot of thinking behind this shot, so I'm glad it inspires other people to think as well =P

Thanks for the informative description. You've made the sun look like a full moon, and it's just a wonderful shot
Jon-Eirik Boholm  Thanks, man.
That was sort of the idea to make the sun look like a moon.
I had no idea how it would turn out, but now that I know, I might just start shooting some more night shots in the daytime =P
