Dog Star
This dog was patiently waiting for a model to arrive on the set during a photo shoot for a ski-wear company.

i had to laugh because of the extreme peace and calmness the dog shows in this surrounding. i looked up the humour category as well, but none of the pics had the same effect :-)
King Douglas  Thanks, Dragan. I think it's funny, too.

Wonderful colour and I love the busyness in this one. So much to explore and see.
King Douglas  Thanks, Scott. In screening, the busyness was one of the things that the critics didn't like. For me, the who purpose of this documentary photo is to illustrate some of the complexity (busyness) of even the simplest setup in a commercial studio.

No doubt. I recognized as yours in screening. Ironical and full of details.
Great King
F.
King Douglas  Thank you, Fulvio. I guess it isn't too difficult to spot my images these days. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

This dog is Big star! Cool face!
King Douglas  Thank you, Yoshiaki.
This is so,so, so interesting (for a lack of a better word) You could do a whole series of images like this and it would be very unique and well, interesting. I like it a bunch.
Sorry, been working all day and my brain is dead. Love it.
King Douglas  Well, Angela, I submitted this because I thought that you and some others might simply find it *interesting*...nothing more. :>) So you get it, brain dead or not (now who's acting weird???) :>)

Thanks very much.

This is very informative! I had no idea that catalog shoots are such big productions. Why does it take so many people?
King Douglas  Thanks, Martin.
Let's see...dog, dog's owner, model, makeup artist, two assistants (one handling the snow, the other handling the fog), client, various hangers on...that's pretty normal for shots that involve living things. For those who are interested, I posted a scan of the final cover shot in the Critique section:

Cool to see a "real" setup. Just a nudge more complicated compared to the work i do at home, LOL.
Saw this in screening, so you started to try out the communities opinions now? Before publication that is. ;-)
/Thomas
King Douglas  Thanks, Thomas. Ursula convinced me that submitting my photos for community screening was the right thing to do. I like to get rejections over with as soon as possible, but Ursula changed my point of view.

I liked this one very much in screening.. so fascinating to be just a spectator and see how everything is being done :)
King Douglas  Thanks, Daria. Your comment was my motivation for posting this, as most photographers don't shoot this way. For those who are interested, I posted a scan of the final cover shot in the Critique section:

It even snows in your studio! :O) I think the dog feels like the King at this scene, even though the King is present behind the scene! :O) I agreee with Andrew, captivating stuff! :O))

Good one King. Nice framing, including that frame within the frame that isolates the dog.
King Douglas  Thanks, Koen. The frame within the frame was pre-existing. This really is just a documentary photograph of the dog set.
