through the bubble
This is a single image taken through a bubble window at the park. I thought the scratches made by children over the years was interesting and created a particular mood. Cropped, levels and converted to b/w

Cheers, Fernand

You make the editing just enhance the image totally. So wonderful. You weave a delicious tale here.
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Judy, Thank you so much. Not much editing in this image. cropped and worked on levels a bit beforing deciding to make to b/w. Thank so much. A little burn here and there. :)

I would like a lesson on both your technique but more importantly your vision with these images Angela. Super work. mal
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Mal, Thank you. I don't think this was much of a techinique. I just saw it and waited. As for my visions!?! I'm a dreamer and when I say that I don't mean head in the clouds- when I sleep I dream and I remember every one of them and I have kept records of them for years. However, I don't try to visually interpert them- they just come intitutively. That is the only way I can describe it. I tend to go with the flow and trust things are going to appear and work out. I think symbolically. Nothing special about that. Thanks! Very happy you like it. :)

The foreground and sky in this beautiful image has the quality of an aquatint etching. Although I come from a highly technical, traditional and classical education in photographic techniques, I'm very open images of all sorts, and mainly to images that move or inspire me to continue and improve my own work.

This image, in common with so many of your pieces, does that for me. To paraphrase Jack Nicholson in "As Good As It Gets," you make me want to be a better photographer.
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Love your indepth comments. Just a pleasure to read. When I saw what all those scratches in looked like a etching and it had a pattern. It also reminded me of the lines in the image Frozen I did and that also sparked my interest.
Thank you so much! you are quite the movie buff! Me too! :)

Once again a artistic piece of work that goes straight to the heart.. I think of childhood memories when i see it.. Even though its grayscale, i feel happiness looking at it! Great work Angela!

Wonderful picture, Angela! For me it could be made from thousand images, it is and remaind very beautiful, love the scratch (now I know it is a scratch :-)) from near the tree, a 'stairway to heaven', and the kids running in the opposite direction. Probably I'm seeing too much :-). Anyway, I love it!
all the best
Codrin
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Condrin, We really do think alike. I read so much into everything- Everything tends to be symbloic for me and that large scratch is exactely what I was thinking when I saw it in the view finder. Then I waited for those boys.
I wonder if there is so much enthusium over this image because it is a single shot? Makes no difference to me how I get there composed in camera or sketched in photoshop. I view both the same. It is like layering a painting and composing in camera is the same to me.
btw:however that is also going to make one cool texture overlay for future images. HA!

Andrea
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Thank you so much. That texture was awesome. I might try other playgrounds next week!:)
Andrea Orioli  Just for curiosity and to improve my english.. :-) what is a bubble window?!
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Andrea, I'm not sure if that is what it is actually called but it is a large plexiglass window that is part of a playground set. So the kids can see through. :)
Andrea Orioli  So I have to look for scratched plexiglass windows in the parks :-)))))
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  lol! Yes, and you have to climb up the ladder and crunch in the window. Just watch all the moms freak out! Take a kid with you they are a good cover up. :)

what kind of bubble do you have in mind ?
this is really good!
no, it is better....
no, it is the best!
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Barbara, So happy you like this. This was taken at a playground on top of a big playset- The ones that have the bubble windows so the children can see through. The dirty plexi and texture made the shot- it seemed to blur in all the right places. Thanks. I'll start uploading single shots more often-I take tons!:)

Fantastic shot Angela!
Very impressive to be a single shot, everything comes together in this wonderful image, love the composition and the scratches!
All the best Anne Lene
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Anne, Thank you so much. When I saw all those scratches I started composing a shot. I love the idea of the texture w/o it being a overlay. I just waited for some movement and that was it. Thank you! Shocked it made it through.

Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Wow! I'm really happy. This was so much fun to do. I was in the bubble for quite some time trying to compose an interesting shot. Then I saw the two boys running and I waited. Thank you!
