Doris Doppler Thanks for your comment and suggestion, Fernand! I see your point. Would you suggest to crop it tighter at the left and/or right side, too?

If you crop a little on the right/left side, you crop one of the two orange houses. Not a good solution for me, these two houses are important in the general compo. Personally, I shoud make a square format, that suits very well with such a picture. About the cropping of the foreground, I should crop 2/3 of it (seeing the left side of the pic). Only a suggestion as always...

I've just played around with the composition and the cropping you suggested would definitely put more emphasis on the houses than the actual crop. I'll bear it in mind when taking a similar shot in the future. Again, thank you very much! It's always good to hear the opinion of an experienced photographer.

This is an interesting composition for this subject. At first feels almost counter intuitive, but after looking at the full size image, it grows on me. I think I might have to say I like it!!
