About me

My Name is Robert Schraven, I am currently living in Dubai and over the past years photography became a serious hobby.
I am still very much of a learner with a relatively modest skillset.

I shoot mainly street photos and for this reason I do not carry a flash with me.

Over the past years I have been working on a photo series about the people who really built Dubai. These are the hundreds of thousands of constructionworkers from India and related areas.
For the majority of people living in Dubai they are pretty much invisible and some sort of tribute is due. I find in these people dignity and pride which I try to capture in the images.
