I am an amateur photographer - and just love photography in most its forms. A few years back I upgraded from film to digital SLR and that was the push I needed to start on a new journey. I have just retired and as a result have more time and energy to devote to my passion.

Ive learnt an enormous amount from interacting with other photographers on this site. As yet I have only submitted a handful of images and none have been accepted but one of my goals this year is to be ready to submit images on a more regular basis and put some images up for critique.

I shoot a broad range of subjects - in fact I probably am interested in shooting most things. I particularly enjoy street photography and love playing with my macro lens at home with a bunch of flowers or a new pot plant! I added a lens baby to my collection late last year and have had fun learning its quirks.

As a retirement treat I have booked a photography tour of Turkey later in the year. That has made me rethink my skills in landscape. Ive enrolled in a master class with an excellent local photography teacher who will have a strong influence on my landscapes skills over the coming weeks.

This site has been a wonderful support and resource over the last couple of years. The generosity of photographers is quite amazing. I am looking forward to interacting with more of the 1x.com community as I follow my passion this year.
