Hi,
I have just bought on ebay, an Epson p2000 40gb viewer and backup device. it would be just perfect for me if only it read SDHC cards! *****! ;-(
It will read ordinary SD apparently, but I don't want to start using them as they are slow and i have two 4 gig SDHC cards already. According to the forums i have looked at, it will read CF ultra and all the other more recent CF cards. Shame I'm not a canon user. . . Never thought I'd say that ;-)
My question is - If I get a SDHC to CF converter, would that render the content on my HCSD card readable? What do you think?
I can return the device, but if I could get it to work it would be so much better. A newer model of viewer costs about 4 times what i paid for this one, and a converter costs about twenty quid. Worth a try? I have seven days to return the epson. I might just use it as a cheap but bulky ipod substitute for in car use . . . or as a doorstop. . .
many thanks for any help.

Hi,all the electronic equipment that are labelled SD,can not read or recognize the SDHC,if you COPY your data to the CF using a computer or whatever external device, that CF will be read by the device that can not recognize them in the SDHC flash.
if you want to get a converter from SD to CF,it should be labelled SDHC converter for your SDHC to be read by Epsom P2000.I have seen only MS to CF,but not SD to CF.stay well.

Thanks Al, I want the device to be usable away from a computer, so i can shoot like a mad man and then save and review ( and delete a lot! )my pics before they get onto the computer. I have seen a SDHC adapter that I am told, will work in this case, so I have ordered it. Somebody on another forum had the very same problem a year ago and this very adapter solved it. I am crossing my fingers that i am not 'throwing good money after bad' as we say.
Thanks again,
Jon
