Looking for high quality Panasonic G1 or GF1 photo gallery
Posted 2 years ago
My sister is interested in these cameras. But she is concerned that the photos will be inferior to what she could get from a Canon or Nikon dslr.

So I'm looking for photos from these cameras taken by an excellent photographer.

This should give you an idea. The camera is probably excellent for its size, but will probably not deliver the same as the Nikon and Canon DSLR's. After all, the sensor is smaller

Thanks

My sister really likes the photos on 1X. So I think she is much more influenced by the quality of the photographer than the camera. So I am looking for a gallery of 1X level photos for her to look at.

Peter,

I use the Olympus E-3 and KPK here uses other Olympus SLR cameras that all share the same sensor as the cameras you mention. This should give you a start on your search for 1X-pictures - there are some other photographers here also using cameras with the same/similar sensors in them.

I almost exclusively shoot with the G1 (sometimes also with the E-P1) and two of my photos managed to get accepted here. ;-) But you can also have a look at my Flickr photostream with more photos:

Having said that I think that unless you want to print really big sized prints, every DSLR-like camera will suffice. The advantage of µFT is that it is very easy to carry arround because it's so small and light and allows for instant checking of exposure, which sometimes can make the difference for me.

I bought a GF1 two weeks ago mainly for street and everyday photography. It is rather impressive. Here is a links to some landscapes that shows the quality of this camera: http://www.davidclapp.co.uk/blog/reviews/43-panasonic-gf-1-in-the-landscape.html and Andreas images are also excellent.
