3D PHOTO...is it interesting?
Posted 2 years ago
Hello! What do you think about photos in 3D space? I mean making 2D images more alive by mix photography and film technics. For me it's so amazing and it feels like you are in the scene. First time I saw it was on an english site but I don't remember which, but found this swedish site called http://www.darkwingphoto.se. I would like to know what you guys think about it and if it?s an usual thing.

If you talk about a photographic print yes, but the contents of a picture are always 3D. Can you print a 3D picture? Is it purely for web?
Someone please stop me if I'm talking rubbish. :)

3D photography is nothing new. Stereoscopic Photography has been around since 1840... I wasn't able to find any examples or portfolio work on that site you linked to... Just cheesy "intro" and "demo" clips.

I just found out that what you saw might have been static images that have been transformed into dynamic 3D motion. It must mean that they just move static pictures in 3D space in some sort of video editing program, or???

Well I don´t know how they do it but it´s really cool! Anyone who knows what you need to make this type of production?

I've checked around and I guess it's made in Adobe After Effects or Cinema 4D. I must try this :)

I just saw that darkwingphoto updated their website, I think it looks much better now, must have been a temporary site they had earlier. They also added a new 3D photo clip with old photos, I liked it, haven´t had time to find out more how to create this kind of production though!
