For printing you need 200dpi. With a 6MP camera it means in practice prints up to 10 /15 inch (if you use the full image).
If you want larger prints you have to 'upgrade' your pixels. There are programs to do do that, with minimum loss in quality, e.g. Genuine Fractals.
If you use Photoshop, there is also a simple method, that the Photoshop expert Scott Kelby wrote about in one of his books. Enlarge your image in steps of 10% (so 110%); you can do this several times but allways 110%. I tried it and it works quite well if you don't go too far

If you are willing to tolerate some loss of quality, then first try setting your DPI down a bit. 300 DPI is standard, but you can get usable results as low as 150. That should give you enough leeway to get from 8x10 to 12x18. Alternatively, if you must up-size the image, then do the resampling with the "Bicubic Smoother" option in Photoshop which is designed for just that purpose. You may want to look at "Photoshop Pro Photography Handbook" by Chris Weston, Lark Books. See the chapter on "Resizing Images."

For Genuine Fractals you could go to the website

http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=2

You will find all information, a video tutorial and you even can download a demo version for 30 days.

But if you have Photoshop, try also the 'trick' of Scott Kelby. It's free and easy, and it works

Did you download the 39 page pdf user's guide from Nik?? A link to the user's guide is in the upper right of the product page on Nik's website:
http://www.niksoftware.com/silverefexpro/usa/entry.php

It also installs as an item in the start menu in the Silver Efex Pro folder if you use a PC

I haven't seen any tutorials anywhere

There are tutorials on the Nik site.

Also check out Nik Sharpener Pro 3 - Output Sharpening, which helps optimise sharpening for a range of target outputs, eg display, inkjet printer etc. If you get the size print you are after then this can enhance its IQ.
