He was born in Bologna in 1959 and obtained Art High School degree in '78. Among his teachers the painter Piero Manai, the sculptor and photographer Vecelio Paverati and the painters Satta, Boni and Montanari.
From the first years of high school he got in touch with photography, starting a personal research of chemical and graphic elaboration of his images.
In the end of the 70s, the first experiments using Polaroid materials disclosed the chance to join two worlds seemingly in conflict with each other: realism of photographic image and the utmost creativity of painting.
So in the following years, thanks to the techniques he developed, he had the chance to mix better his pictorial tastes together with photography.

Experimentation inevitably leaded him to approach recent digital techniques. Computer got slowly a prominent position as creative instrument. It took the place of scissors used for collages and placed side by side brushes and pencils up to be an effective option to darkroom.

Almost all recent artworks are results of a mixture of techniques going though Polaroid to graphics and painting to digital.
