I took photos of a college spring dance performance over the weekend. I have experience with stage because both my children danced even in college. My camera is usually set up before I even go so I don't have to worry about setting it in a dark theatre. I currently use a Nikon z5 and a 24-120 lens which I love.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions, improvements I could make. I

Hi Kathryn welcome to critique. With stage photography you don't get the chance to pose the subject and with dancers of any kind the special moment of capture is very hard to achieve. But many people voting in selection who hsave never photograthe dance will not understand how hard it can be that's you problem on 1x,com. And tha't without thinking about the lighting. Your image great rich colours, but at the same time lots of black areas. Patchy light on the middle dancer. The two dancers on the right have merged to close together for this shot to work in my view. Thank you for sharing keep up the work. I hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your critique. I see the blacks but it will just create more noise and it is common stage lighting. I will try to raise the blacks and shadows selectively to see how it looks but I think the integrity of the choreography would lose some impact too.  Thanks again.
