What you see here is a small four-story building, which appears to have been abandoned for some time now, sandwiched between two enormous high rises in the financial district. What makes this image so cool for me is that as you walk through the financial district you are overwhelmed by the gleaming contemporary architecture, each building a flurry of excitement as suit-clad businessmen dash from building to awaiting taxicab. Then suddenly, as if forgotten by time, you come across this little gem, a remnant of an earlier time.

It’s easy enough to see what happened, as companies rushed to buy up property in this rapidly growing district, one business owner simply refused to sell. This is the beauty of our country and the very personification of Boston’s underlying character. Strength, determination, and of course just plain stubbornness, are the traits that our country is built on! Just ask Samuel Adams.
