No photoshop. Just lovely velvia and some bounce flash on a beautiful day. I made a video of the whole shooting of this and will post to flickr/youtube.

Richard, I like the graphic and color blends captured and here comes maybe a more distant interpretation from reality as if the earth has surrendered the sky and the moonly non-shade, is still shining.

thanks for your comment on my photos, I'm realizing that the publication must have something exceptional, like the rest of your pictures, thank you so much Fabio Ferrazzi
Richard Ford  Well maybe not exceptional. Just in line with the tastes of this site. This shot. I guess it is OK. I like it for what it is - but it doesn't move me mentally and I wouldn't hang it on my wall. Other shots that do move me mentally and I would hang up and stare for an eon - aren't published. Just have to have a bit of fun and not take it so seriously. Just try to learn and improve - but shoot what you like to look at and what you would want to hang on your wall.

Wow, Richard, I had no idea this was yours when I first saw it, but I'm following the thread on your appendix and heard about it. I like this very much, although I haven't bothered to comment earlier...lazy me.

Congratulations!
Richard Ford  Thanks King. First time I have pre visualised a shot at further out than 10 seconds. :-)

Composition, angle and colors are superb!
Richard Ford  Thanks Fred. Colour was a after thought after shooting it first with the 14mm. I drove home, got my flash and gels and came back specifically to shoot it.

I dont' know, but this one seems GREAT to me! Really, I like it very much, it is so simple, volumes are so well arranged and light...hmm, light is exactly how it should be! (one of my colleagues just saw it and she said: "wow, how cool!". PS: i usually dont like these abstract shots...! Congratulations, Richard!
Richard Ford  Thanks Mihnea.

Very good
Richard Ford  Thanks Semir. I shot about 20 of it - this is the best one, when angle of bounce flash, exposure and what not was all taken into consideration. I could have gone many different ways with it - most shots were interesting - but this is the one that was closest to my pre conception.

A curious picture which makes it very original. Beautiful colors. Greetings
Richard Ford  Thanks Martin. For sure it needs a 14mm or wider to shoot - fisheye even. I ad tried to shoot it before and never pulled the trigger. THough looking at the scene through a 14mm lens made me not only shoot it - but come back and do the strobe effects.

color, Richard? nice shot!
Richard Ford  Yes. Had this roll of velvia in the fridge for years it seemed. Needed an excuse to shoot it. This industrial complex turn community par provided the excuse... that and a rented 14-24.

That is one film I miss! Terrific image very much in the mould for me a wonderful interplay of light. Nice to see you back on the front page with something entirely different. Well done Richard.
Richard Ford  Thanks Gerry. I did a lot of non street shooting this summer in Aus to try and expand my mind and learn new things.
