it's like looking at the slice of a mocha cake. The pastel layers that seem to be arranged by a master pastry chef - the warmth in the snowy peaks, the creamy clouds and crispy textures of a nature in winter...I swear; this shot make me want to run the first patisserie for some chocolate indulgence!

Sublime shot, John.

John, this is just so exceptional that it seems to live where photography, light and paintings reside. What an amazing rendition you have here. I sure hope this one is printed very large:) My best, Phyllis
John Parminter  Thanks Phyllis, I have printed this one large but for a friend and my sister, not for myself yet...

hi john,.. i really like all of ur landscape shots,.. Everything's perfect!! im a big fans of ur pictures!
what technique do u use? is it photoshoped? or just a normal shot with ND? please please share with me. i really love landscape photography. Thank you. :)
John Parminter  Hello ferli. My technique is simple, accurate metering of the scene, use of ND grads, polarisers etc for what is required, large DOFs and focusing about a third into the scene.
I do very little in editing, usually restricted to a few levels layers in certain areas to emphasize local contrast.
The best advise I could give would be to be passionate about your subjects, develope a vision of what you want to achieve and be prepared to put a lot of hard effort in time and planning to realise better results.
Once you have a few basic camera techniques learnt then it will be down to you and your vision that will produce better images, little to do with photoshop I'm afraid.
Good luck,
JP
ferli  Thanks for your advice john,. really apreciate that!,. i like your photography style,. keep share with me,. THX a lot ^^

'nother beauty, John. Love the layers, each with a different texture. It reminds me of those colored-sand-layers-in-a-jar displays people make.

I've always found it difficult to get a scenic of the Coniston fells so went on an exploration this particular morning to hunt them down.

The creeping mist was a bit of a bonus but makes it all worth while for the early starts.
