Sean Reidy Thank you kruno. If you were there, you would have experienced what I did. There were millions of little flies hovering around my face, and my fifteen year old son was dropping rocks off the cliff to my left and counting how long it took them to hit the ground, while I pleaded with him not to stand so close to the edge :-)

It's funny sometimes to hear the back-story to a photograph. What appears in the photo to be a serene scene may not have been :-)

It was still a moment that I will never forget though.

Very nice HDR picture, congrats!

Sean Reidy Thank you very much Claude. I tried to keep the result as believeable as possible. I do not like extreme HDR images, so I try to be subtle when I use it. In fact, in recent times I have switched over to using blending of different exposures using layer masks in Photoshop for a more realistic result.

I'd like to ask what lens gave you this nice flare

Sean Reidy Thank you for your comment. It was a Canon EF 17-40mm lens, stopped down to f22. The "starburst-effect" flare seems to be a feature of this lens when stopped down to smaller apertures.
