A fantatsy photo! In August, I summited Long's Peak in Colorado, and it gave me a wonderful taste of what it must be like to experience something like this! At least in my dreams :)

This is perfectly gorgeous. The B/W tonalities are wonderfully rendered. I know Chamonix well from when I lived in Geneva in the late 50's, and this brings back some wonderful memories.

Great and courageous shot!
Alexandre Buisse  Thanks! I don't think it required much more courage than already exhibited by climbers in this range, though.

great shot & great place! every time i go this way myself im quite happy if there is a cloud on the chamonix side.. pretty steep there.. - anyway always feel like slightly shaking legs and hands.. definitely not like holding camera and taking photos ;)! brave, great pic!
Alexandre Buisse  Thanks! The only time I have been really scared on that ridge was when making the track after a heavy snowfall, two summers ago (I took the shots "Tacul" and "Observers" that day, also published here). This photo was taken while waiting to get started, as my friends weren't comfortable with crampons yet, I didn't feel like stopping everyone to take pictures on the actual ridge.
JaNo  yep - i checked your page and have seen all your pics published in here - amazing! keep climbing, keep taking photos - u r doing really great job!

fantastic shot, Alexandre! This is the "real thing", not my recent "cable car" photo, although they depict the same massif :).
Alexandre Buisse  Thanks Lev. This one was taken from almost the same spot, actually, except that I was already outside the station (mostly because it was so warm that the ice cave was dripping all over us). Though you can't see it on this image, there was quite a traffic jam to get started on the arete!

Looks like I don't have to throw my crampons and ice axe away in a fit of rage then.... ;-))

JP
Alexandre Buisse  I had a feeling that was from you, though I didn't know you owned such tools. If you ever feel the need to throw them away in the future, be sure to aim my way!
John Parminter  Nae Alex, I still use them about 2 or 3 times a year when we get a bit of snow and ice up on the hills.....
