It's History Now.
Alfred Waterhouse (19 July, 1830 – 22 August, 1905) was a British architect, particularly associated with the Victorian Gothic revival. He is perhaps best known for his design for the Natural History Museum in London, although he also built a wide variety of other buildings throughout the country. Financially speaking, Waterhouse was probably the most successful of all Victorian architects. Though expert within Gothic and Renaissance styles, Waterhouse never limited himself to a single architectural style.

Amazing! I love this building. How did you take it without anybody being there though? It's always so busy.
Ian Munro  Yes you would laugh if you could see me swearing under my breath at people I waited and waited and waited. I was getting very stressed especially because I was using a gorilla pod on the hand rail. It was 10 am just as the museum opened, so I took 3 shots and that was it.

Thank you
Martin  Well, I am even MORE impressed now. Great shot, indeed :-) Thanks for the reply!

has this been done using HDR technique in PS??? very artistic... toooooooooo good..
Ian Munro  Thank you, its a 3 shot exposure blend not HDR then I used different contrast selections. I used photomatix though but it was "exposure blend" and not tonemapped. Im glad you like it.
Oh! This is beautiful!

The heavy HDR/TM postwork let the image look like a drawing.
One can like this style or not :-)

Very striking image Ian. I doubt such a range of light and shadow could be presented better. Well done!

Funny, this picture is overexposed and has been published. I do not know what criteria they adopt the moderators.
alexr  Also over-exposed on my calibrated monitor. To my tastes, the post-processing and sharpening is overdone here, sorry. Here's an almost identical photo, also in the Architecture group, but with more subtle post-processing: http://1x.com/v2/#?userid=&action=view&id=33959&size=L
Sandy Powers  I agree. It doesn't look a bit over-exposed on my monitor. It looks spectacular and flawless.
Ian Munro  Looks fine to me, maybe you need your screen calibrated ;)
