P.S. The fact that you took this with a D70 is just more incredible, I have enough trouble on my 5fps D200 at airshows :P. But Im just curious if you don't mind me asking, what lens were you shooting with that also allowed you to control aperture via the dial?

This picture taken by 70-300mm Nikon Zoom lens. This is very reasonable price and very small.

Before couple of this shot, I using 1/800sec f8, Then I changed aperture to f11 using dial with same shutter speed.

This airshow in last year, I picked up 300mmF2.8VR with 1.4x teleconverter from rental shop. And I use D300 with this lens.
But sky condition was more worse. So I couldn't make good shoot.

Now I'm using D300 and D70s, and I satisfied those equipment.
I hope I would have good/nice/expensive equipment but I still satisfied to using entry models. ;-)

When I was taking this picture, the sky was bit hazy and cloudy. I'm so sad because such a bad wether condition.
The beginning of this show, the first performance is formation flight called "dirty turn".
Four jets coming closer to closer to my location, then I found the landing lights turned on and looks very cool for me.
So, I made rapidly close the aperture to intentionally under exposure.
After that, I developed this picture using LightRoom. Then, I also made small adjustment on Photoshop Elements using burn tool as I made analogue development at long long time ago.

Finally, A lesson for me that day was... Don't give up even in such a bad condition.

I went to this show every year. The first time I was there at 1976.
This show also will have 3rd Nov, and I will be there.
