Great atmosphere here and a very interesting composition! This might be the kind of photo that doesn't speak to everyone because the message is kind of subtle, but it's very much in my taste.

The Palace of the Republic was the Parliament of the former German Democratic Republic, built on the site of the former Stadtschloss in Berlin. The above photo was taken just a few days before the complete closure of the building. At this time it was gutted because of asbestos, but nevertheless I felt a strange kind of mood in there. At the moment the complete deconstruction of the building is in progress, it is scheduled for the end of 2008.
