This is such an enchanting U/W image. This is simply superb, and an image to be proud of. Those square-on eyes with their white rims pick up on this gloomy hues and set it alight and alive. Well done! Andre

I was surprised I haven't commented on this one before. been looking at it so many times.
Absolutely excellent! The light, the posture, and those eyes. Where was this? Vancouver?
We have loads of these seals around here, but they are impossible to get close to with scuba. I have tried many times. The closest was once when I snorkeled in surface. Then I felt this was going so well, put my regulator in my mouth, game over! I saw just a shiny reflection of the escaping seal.

Thanks for the comments! This was in Galapagos. It's a sealion. They swim very fast and this was a lucky shot! There were many with just the tail of parts of the body cut off.

Lars Grepstad I see it now, location is listed. And, yes, a Sealion. The ones we have here are Harbour Seals and Grey Seals.
Lucky shot?? Luck is very often something one make happen. No use with luck if you can't handle the situation technically. This one takes skills to make!

Marcus Lim Thank you Beebo. There was a lot of luck with the timing as they are zooming around at a hundred miles an hour! This is was taken at 1/60 with a 10.5mm lens and even then there is a bit of blur on the fins.
