Nikon has used this image for an ad in National Geographic (Dutch Edition). The ad is about being able to trust your equipment in even the harshest conditions.

The shot was taken on our winter workshop in Japan. This river is where the highly endangered Japanese cranes spend the night. We visited the place a couple of times, hoping for optimal conditions, and on one morning we were awarded with this. The relatively warm water created the mist that immediately froze the moment it came into contact with the surrounding trees. It was terribly cold that morning, but none of my group seemed to care. An unforgettable sight.
