Lovely; the sharp drop highlights over the blurred background making it the center of the picture in such a subtle way... Beautiful!

Beautiful abstract macro, and I like the look of the drop despite what you sasd in your reply to Björn, I don't think it looks overdone at all.
Maybe it is not exactly what you meant but I like this "metallic" look !

I can see you use a Nikon camera, I'd be interested to know which lense you used to shoot this picture, I never manage to get close enough with my 105 macro lens on my D700, the drops are always very small.
Did you crop ?
Ursula I Abresch  I used the Nikon D200 with the Sigma 150mm F/2.8 macro. It isn't cropped at all, it's the original size/dimensions of the D200 sensor. I think two things help me here: The D200 (and my other camera, the D7000) are 3/4 sensors (not full-frame, like your D700). That allows me to "get closer" so to say. Also, the 150 macro is excellent for getting closer, probably better than the 105 (I gave away my beloved 105, and am using the 150 exclusively now).

Thank you for the comment, Marie-Claude! Merci.

Wonderful, love the hints of spectral colours throughout the bokeh, your images are amazing!
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Mandy! Yes, I love those hints of spectral colours! These seed pods have a habit of showing this effect, and I work at getting it into my pictures of them.

I have always wondered how you do all your wonderful macros / abstracts. You do not have tutorial somewhere by accident, had a look around here but havent found one.
Wonderful light, composition!
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Meike. I don't have a tutorial at this time. I have intended to write a few tutorials for my blog, but at the moment I just don't have the time. Hopefully after March I will have some time for it.
Meike Hofstetter  Thank you, Ursula. I´ll keep an eye on you ;)

Simple and yet rich, quiet and yet dynamic; it's a fantastic picture, I love it! I wonder about the "pearl": is that a water droplet? It looks so dark, as if made of metal rather than translucent water.
Ursula I Abresch  :). Thank you. It is a drop, very much part of the picture, and the intended viewing focal point. But ... As you (unfortunately) noticed, it looks unnatural. It is the one part of the picture I selectively edited, because the drop had a rather glaring white spot in it. When I saw the picture on the front page this morning, I realized I'd overdone it, and the result is that the drop looks "metallic". Not good. I need to go back to the original and re-edit/re-post.
