Stefan Babel Hard to define, isn't "it"? Well, I guess in photography (and probably in all kinds of art) it's a mixture of light, composition, subject, mood... or maybe just one of them hitting the viewer in the way that he gets to "like" it, wants to view the image again, hang it on the wall etc...
I'm affraid I don't see neither of "it" in your image and although there are more images like that here, yours, for some strange reason, made me feel like telling you - maybe that's "it" of your image!
But hey, you know very well that photography (same as all the other kinds of art) is very subjective when it comes to judging - it's just my opinion and I hope it won't be received in a bad way.

Kaveh H. Steppenwolf Thanks Stefan for your reply. Well, I totally understand you. To be honest, this image doesn't have that "it" for myself either! I was a little surprised seeing this published. But that happens often. Sometimes I am very surprised and angry when some of my images get rejected and vice versa ;-)

A tutorial Please!!!

Kaveh H. Steppenwolf Well, the original image is very different from this edited version. The most important part is achieving the sun rays. I have reduced the time of shutter, so that the sky was darkened and sun rays showed out. Then I edited the image in photoshop with Silver Effex and played with tones, shadows and darkened the sky completely.
