Foxy Foxtrot

While I took a short stroll through the Rietputten near Vlaardingen, I spotted a fox who was walking in one of the nearby fields.
The moment he saw me, he fled away in into the forest. Spotting a fox outside the "Amsterdamse Waterleiding Duinen" is always nice, because they are quite elusive and try to avoid contact with humans wherever possible.

I took a walk through the forest and in the meantime the fox must have returned to the fields, because I spotted him again when I left the treeline. Same story unfolded, fox fled and I was happy with the sighting.

But to my surprise, I saw him a few minutes later AGAIN, this time he was running towards me over one of the paths through the reed-lands. He was still about 300 meters away and I had time to lay down in a patch of reed, with just the camera in front of my face.

Very happy to have nailed a shot that had been in my mind for years.

Die kleuren,het perfect frontale & lage POV en de zachte achtergrond: errug mooi!
Maar vooral de blik van de vos is priceless.
PS. In de AWD zijn genoeg wilde & schuwe vossen te vinden hoor, het hangt er maar helemaal vanaf waar je naar toe gaat ;)

Weekje later was ik in de AWD en ook bij de daar overbekende vossen. Hoewel je daar prachtige beelden kan maken, voel ik me toch wat ongemakkelijk daar. Iets te druk naar mijn zin en het geeft toch een ander soort voldoening. In Meijendel weet ik de vossen ook wel te vinden, maar heb daar nooit het geduld gehad om te gaan posten :-)

Dit is één van de beste 'fox-shots' ooit !
Je hebt hier een heel sterke compo, mooie houding van de vos, kleursettings zijn subliem en een ongelooflijk mooie BG !
...zeggen en schrijven dat dit in eigen land is genomen...
Opletten, ze zijn bijna vogelvrij verklaard...schandalig toch

Had ie ook elastieke benen? ;) Erg mooie plaat: inderdaad moeilijk om ze zomaar even in het wild buiten de Waterleidingsduinen vast te leggen..

Mike Muizebelt Dag Martin, ik was deze week ook nog even in de AWD en hoewel ik daar ook een paar mooie beelden heb kunnen maken geeft deze vos veel meer voldoening! Te zien aan de serie stonden zijn benen redelijk strak ;-)

Martin Manuel Wat voor camera gebruik je? Ik schiet zelf met een 500d en nu denk ik aan upgraden naar een 5d of een 7d? Nog ideeën?

Mike Muizebelt dag Martin, ik schiet zelf met Pentax en ben niet zo thuis in de andere merken. Onder natuurfotografen is er momenteel een lichte voorkeur voor Nikon. Aan de andere kant, slecht spul wordt niet meer gemaakt....
