Sometimes it is really unbelievable for me what kind of places can be abandoned.
This abandoned "colonia" was build at the east coast, located in a very touristic area and built directly at the beach. It's a huge complex and beautiful architecture as you see on this staircase. All around there are hotels, restaurants, from the building you can look over the see and nearly jump on the beach - So it is really hard to imagine how such place can even get abandoned and not used anymore....

Sven, I have those thoughts. Last Sunday I had exactly the same way as I had been. It is sometimes incomprehensible, and so sin such beautiful buildings. Hoping that your thing is made in the future. But there is a large price tag on. The old architecture is so beautiful, and to let it wind down is a terrible waste. Roofs are taken off the process to accelerate. But for a Urbanfotgraaf like you that have such beautiful pictures can make is of course a big event. Fortunately, there are a lot of renovation. But on the one hand is not good for the urban photographer;-)
There is a place that I so badly want to visit, a dream come true, but unfortunately they are busy renovating and it is now really hermetically sealed. One Sunday we decided not to go because we still would go for nothing and we only went to another location.

Maybe I should look at the workmen very nice on a weekday! :-)) And ask if we can shoot one hour.

Well I always say it is good and bad at the same time with those. I'm interested a lot in the history of the places and the information around it. Of course I love to photograph the places in a beautiful decay, but I'm also glad to see when those places are renovated again. It's wonderful if precious places get preserved. The only thing bringing tears in my eyes is the bad treatment and vandalism I often see :/
And sometimes asking is more successful then we expect :)
