Birds eye view!
A heron makes a stab at what may have been a fish but fails to connect. Converted to b&w in PS some cloning of the bush on the right side. Photo taken on a bridge overlooking a lake in a Central London Park.

Gerry ...UNUSUAL ...processing for you. Very low key, and mysterious too. The water drops are perfect.. Its amazing what you can find in your neighborhood! Congratulations. Phyllis
gerard sexton  Hi Phyl you got it UNUSUAL. I am experimenting based on my still limited grasp of PP I think I know what I am doing & then something happens & I realise I don't. I am getting there but still have a way to go. Thank you as always.

amazing always amazing gerry, your ability to make a terrific and artistic shot without even going far from your own city.
gerard sexton  Well Nicolas then I achieved my objective then. I am lucky here because the bright peeled stick in the water is an asset it stops the viewer moving too far out of the frame from the birds head. I purposely added this as mood because I took out pieces of the ivy on the right I am still not sure what I am allowed to do in a nature image in regards manipulation! Thank you for your kind words

A photograph, a Painting? Wonderful lines and refections, and I agree with Monique below .... this was made for B&W. .... and here you achieved the best possible result! Bravo!
gerard sexton  You get it Andre its like a painting or even a cartoon in b&w! Thanks Andre I am always aiming to improve my PP conversion skills as you know; another work in progress!

i think what makes this one special is converting to b&w
we really rarely have chance to watch works like this without colors
and this is very interesting and attractive

Congrats for wonderful shot ,Gerard
gerard sexton  Thank you Monique I like it but it has been presented a bit too dark for my liking here as my version is fresher & has more details.

Good catch, Gerard !
Lovely reflection in this one.

regards

Henrik
gerard sexton  You are right Henrik the colour version is too brown in the water so I decided to convert to b&w. I am sure there may be another way but this is it for now. Thanks for your favourable words.

photographers tend to prefer a low vieuw point but this way the reflection stands out. That is what makes this picture very good Gerard, congrats!

cheers, Dennis
gerard sexton  Thanks Dennis really appreciate your visiting & stopping to comment. These birds are used to humans so are less skittish that they might be with some patience & a bit of stealth I got four or five frames & then it flew off & I had the wrong lens to capture the exit! too much to capture in such a small frame I was that close!
Wonderful to see one of your park images here, Gerard.
gerard sexton  Hi Frederic I am happy to see this here my heron images are largely static & there are others more accomplished with access to wildlife that display more dramatic behaviours than I have been able to capture as yet. This gets closer though I am not sure that there are heron size fish in this lake I have seen hefty carp 5-10KG but nothing smaller
