I know now why the beams are crossing.
We tend to think that the beams are comming from the left and right since sunbeams come from above but they both
come from the right.
Probably there is a small ditch between the trees and the meadow behind the trees (which is very common here in Holland) which reflects the sunbeams upwards.
And so they do cross.
Mystery solved :)

Mooi foto hoor! Maar inderdaad... een raadsel die kruisende lichtstralen. Staat er soms een glazen gebouw links achter de bomen die de stralen weerkaatst?

Het is mij ook een raadsel, er staat op dat gedeelte van de laan geen gebouw, enkel weiland aan beide kanten.

schitterend, Jeroen! Een beetje apart dat er stralen uit twee richtingen komen, of is dat een reflectie of zo?

Ik ben het een keer eerder tegengekomen in een foto van Sven Fennema.

Papafrezzo (Frédéric) Ja, ik weet welke je bedoelt... die van die gang met licht van twee kanten. Trouwens, je moet niets meer zoeken achter mijn opmerking... Ik was gewoon verwonderd. Het licht op de hond is trouwens ook perfect: mooi dat die juist in een zonnestraal staat. Perfecte timing!

Ik was overigens ook verwonderd en ik kan mij voorstellen dat sommige er vragen over hebben,
daar zoek ik verder niets achter.

The sunbeams are real, they are not photoshopped, I don't have an explanation for it but I've seen this cross-pattern before in a photo of Sven Fennema.
