This image is part of a series exploring colour. I created the dress myself with some assistance from the model, Rosie Gowans. I used smoke and coloured powers to create an expressive effect. I wanted this image to explore adolescence and the overblown feelings of Romance (capital R) experienced in youth. The title is taken from a poem of the same name in the book of Emerson poetry that the model is holding.
