t Blijft een bizar gezicht: een insect met een reptiel als lunch...
Mooi, redelijk onsmakelijk, maar vooral erg bijzonder! ;)
jimmy hoffman  Dat zou je inderdaad kunnen doen,maar is bij ons niet nodig en zou ik overigens ook nooit doen.Dit soort foto's heb ik tot nu toe alleen in onze tuin kunnen maken.Tijdens m'n tochten kom ik heel vaak bidsprinkhanen tegen en vroeger nam ik ze vaak mee om in onze tuin los te laten.De vrouwtjes zijn erg honkvast zolang er genoeg voedsel voorhanden is en dat is in onze tuin zeker het geval.Tegenwoordig kom ik bijna dagelijks nog de nakomelingen ervan tegen en geregeld kun je hun eipakketten op bloempotten en vensterbanken vinden.Ook gekkos nam ik mee en liet ze bij ons huis los.Daar wemelt het nu van en het zijn ook nog goede insectenverdelgers!Hierdoor is de kans van een ontmoeting van een mantis met een gekko veel groter dan in de vrije natuur het geval zou zijn.Daar kon ik dus al eens getuige van zijn zoals de foto bewijst.Maar helemaal natuurlijk is het niet,natuurlijk!;)
Bedankt voor je reactie en sorry voor m'n late antwoord,maar ik was een paar weken in Panama.Prachtige natuur!Een aanrader.

Leuk om te lezen dat je je eigen mini-jungletje hebt....ik kijk in spanning uit naar meer spannende belevenissen uit je tuin en uit Panama natuurlijk!

jimmy hoffman  Thanks Guido.It's the gecko that was very tiny(approx.4 cm incl.tail).I think it was just a few days old.The female mantis was approx. 8 cm.

Ongelooflijk fraai beeld, heeft nog heel wat te verstouwen....
