Heaven's Gates

Even mid-day lighting can make for a great opportunity under the right skies. This photograph is probably my favorite I've made around noon. You're looking at the glaciated high peaks of Washington's North Cascades, about two days hiking from where I got dropped off by boat at the beginning of a great trip.

This is so perfect my mind starts making excuses for my lack of talent. Is this HDR? Is it a blend of 50 photos layered? Still, it's a wonderful shot.

Marc Adamus It is all a single exposure in soft light slightly diffused by clouds. Very little PS work on this one.
