geniale komposition

Christoph Hessel Der ganze Morgen war einfach ein Knaller. Das hat sich eher zufällig alles ergeben. Geplant waren Departure und Travelling u.a. Aber die Jungs vom Eisenbahn Reparatur Verein waren willinge Modelle, so dass die am Ende diese alte Dampflok rausholten und Bilder von der und sich ermöglichten. Die muss ich echt mal noch entwickeln, lagern noch auf der Platte alle :-)

Had it been a bus or a car, I don't think the picture would have looked so "strong". The gigantic engine is making the man look tiny, and is reminding me of the scientific achievements of the human being. The railway track looks wooden, is that an old picture, since now a days, tracks are made of cement?
BTW, of course the focus is on man's face, but showing up the tire's minute details would have added to the strength.

Christoph Hessel Thanks for Your thoughts Anisha. I have different images with altered DOF too, in my eys they detract more. It is an actual image, taken in an old railwaystation, still used, but not for everyday purposes.

Anisha Kaul Perhaps you are right, trying to have everything in focus might spoil the end result. This has been a very inspiring picture. I have many times been on a railway station but in those time I didn't have the photographer's 'eye'. :-)

Hi Christoph, I saw some series of oldies style with your brother in law, and this seems part of it. Could be a photo series. Wondering this kind of train still exist in EU. Same question with hardibudi.. do they still work or this is from a museum?

Christoph Hessel Hi Hardi, it is an abandoned railwaystation near my hometown, where a group of engeneers is collecting testing and repairing this old trains. The work, and at that day make the steam locomotive work for us. It is used not in daily traffic, but on special days for tourists as attraction, and than is moving on a romantic way.
