Promontory
A view of the phenomenal rice terraces in Banaue. They were constructed by the Ifugao people over the course of 2000 years, using primitive implements and a complicated design that included shoring up the terraces with rocks brought up from the river valleys, layering the terraces with sand, stone and dirt to hold water, and washing excess dirt down the mountain with elaborate water systems. This photo only shows one perspective: they stretched as far as the eye could see, covering mountains throughout the valley that made up the town of Banaue and continuing in surrounding areas. It was easy to see why they are considered the eighth wonder of the world and a World Heritage area.

What a view you've found in this one. Your choice of composition works perfectly to bring out the greatness in this dramatic landscape, very nice :0)
Nathan Jandl  Thank you, Peter. It was such a gorgeous place, I almost didn't know where to point my camera. Almost ;)
