Vaulted ceiling

This ceiling is part of the so called "Grote of St. Nicolaaskerk" in Elburg, a little town in the Netherlands near to nature reserve the Veluwe. On my latest trip to the Veluwe I also visited this church for a while and shot some images of the beautiful interior of this church.

The church building is very old. When the city in 1392 on the orders of William of Gullik was placed to the north and walled, there was a need in this city to go to church. On June 18 in the year 1397 there was permission received from the Bishop of Utrecht, Fredericus Blankenheim, for construction of the church. The construction of the church took many, many years, until about the year 1470.

The church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors.

theo peekstok Thanks for your comment Gerard, and no, the ceiling wasn't very high but I accidentally wrote the wrong focal length under my photo. The right focal length is 10 mm.

The focal length of 105 mm. was a mistake, the right lengt is 10 mm. with my Sigma 10-20. I now changed the Exif info.

I wish I had taken this one! Flawless, and skilfully post-processed. The focal length gives us an idea of how tall the building is.

theo peekstok You're right Frédéric, I made a mistake with the Exif; a copy-paste fool. I changed it into the right Exif, 105 mm. had to be 10 mm. wideangle. I'm so sorry........
The colors are made in postprocessing and were in reality very very light blue. That gave me the idea to make the ceiling in so called "Delft blue", if you know what that is. Thanks again for your comment.
