Up Above
The sheer mass of Mount Rainier standing 14,411 ft (4,392 m) tall can influence weather patterns. On special days, lenticular clouds form in the vicinity of the mountain as captured here.

oh yeaaah! Lovely to see it hear Brent. Now the buildings are a lot more balanced and it all makes perfect sense composition wise.
Brent Smith  Thanks Nicolas, now and for previously with your help :)

Beautifull!

The dimensions and tones are superb! Including so much of the subdued cityscape in the foreground provides a wonderful contrast and heightens the impact of the show in the background. The square format works perfectly here. Spectacular!

Brent!! Fantastic! So happy to see this here. You made a very brave decision with this one and it is fabulous. Beautiful photography!
Brent Smith  Hi Mandy, I guess I was rather bold with this revision lol! I remember you were especially helpful with your critique of this image earlier- many thanks!

Wow !....that's one very impressive shot....gives a sense of the insignificance of man's efforts compared to natures
magnificence......1st class !

You gotta love the Washington views. Most people I see doing these shots today are blending the skyline from shots 20 minutes later when the city is 'glowing' a little more. This is the more natural version.

What a sight! I've never seen lenticular clouds by myself, only on great photos as this one, so I'm particularly thankful (and envious ;-)). Great work Brent!
Brent Smith  Christophe! Thanks man :)

Thank you all for the kind comments :)

I would especially like to thank those people who helped me with advise for this capture in the critique forum. I really don't think this would have gotten published without the changes I made to it based on sound feedback I got from other members.

This was captured on Queen Anne Hill just north of Downtown Seattle.
