I visited the stunning Cape Peninsula in South Africa, surely one of the most beautiful areas on this planet. Although I have been there several times, I was particularly struck by the unique and dramatic beauty of this area.

My favourite place of all was Cape Point Nature Reserve, a plant diversity hot spot. This unique area, home to flora which have to adapt to rapidly changing conditions, together with endemic fauna and spectacular geological features fascinated me and captivated my attention.

The image here was taken at sunrise, during gale force winds, as the sun broke through clouds screaming over the mountain side which dramatically drops into the ocean. The light was spectacular and changed so rapidly that I found myself scrambling to get a decent composition which hopefully would be worthy of conveying its beauty.
