The Gambler

He lost a bet with his wife over the name of a movie star... that he apparently got wrong. We talked on the train from Brooklyn into Manhattan and like the great sport that he undoubtedly is, he let me take a few shots. I quickly snapped this one as doors closed in on him after I exited the train because it felt like the curtain was coming down on a character in New York's never ending cast of players.

Steve - what to say? This says a great deal about their relationship - if nothing else it has to be great fun. I feel sure that he had a great day walking about like this in NYC..I wish I could have seen it in person - but this photo is so great I think I might be there again...Congratulations. Phyllis

This is great (for lack of a better and more explanatory word); the fact that he was so sure about his own conviction that he was, not only willing to bet dressing up as a woman and agree to ride the subway, but the fact that he went through with it, now that's something. I love everyday scenes and the odd ones out and your photos are truly something.
