the distortion you have here is more coming from the stitching and the projection than the lens used ;-)

Normally, an unrealistic or over-the-top type of processing technique like this is not something I enjoy, but this image is undeniable... I think the original pano (which is also great) really is the perfect scene for this treatment. The end result here is very unique and powerful.. A strange blend of perfect symmetry and vertigo.
Your processing of the exposures is excellent too...
