Shackled in Neon Light

When you have anxieties you struggle to be free. I see this Black man as just that . An individual facing a Tsunami of white opinion and approval. In this street scene the visual of a man with back bare and chained bring up a lot of symbolic notes in history that would rather be buried. The The Boombox represents the source ones nerves, pride and with the rap music emanating becomes his shield to face the social Tsunami .

its a well seen image, but i find the "message" a touch cliche. maybe if there was not many other races there. anyway, its just my opinion

Wings Hey Brin thanks . I'm in I'm in Banyuwangi. for a few more days then off into Asia. cheers and thanks. I was just at and in Ijgen with the workers. I had some serious industrial mask and goggles to breath and filter out the sulfuric acid. his hike up was a bit too much but I did it. Once at the top As always I make friends because I'm that way. The hike down to the sulfur was dangerous and I just discovered I hate heights when the passage way is fr some tiny indigenous worker. Themoment happpen here sitting on the rounded edge of the crater. A foolish Norwegian slipped and started sliding past me. He grabbed my foot off all things. Good for him I have big feet. The out come was I started to slide as well . I tossed my Loweprow back pack. the straps gt wedged and snagged a edge of a rock. Its hard to slip but shooting near the edge it gets funny. I now have a respect fr vertigo.

The chains and the ghetto blaster. Confined Freedom, or whatever. However, it does work. Give, and Take. A political expression very well presented, as your subject is not overt and simply part of the patient audience, yet his presence is very strong, and the statement prevails. The value of the statement over rides my appreciation of the photograph, which is refreshing, and a feather in the cap of the screeners.
