Like hands. Very very beautiful John.
John Colbensen  You see the hands? I wrote previously in a comment that this picture for me has a meta-level and it implies "the hands". Thank you Jacob :)
Jacob Jovelou  The hands makes this photo for me :)

This is such a beautiful, otherworldly image, John, real and dreamy in the same time, a pretty rare combination! I love it! Cheers!
John Colbensen  As so many times before Codrin, you seem to "see" what I feel . This picture has a meta -level but I'm not sure if I should write anything about that. I'm so glad it touched you. Poetry is such a wonderful part of life . Thank you my dear friend :)
I am sorry John, please don't take offence, but I don't get it. I have looked at it these last hours many times, allowing myself to maybe see it in a different light but for the life of me I cannot figure out why it has gotten the comments so far from photographers I respect very much.

What I see is a stone and the end of a dead branch in blurred water or ice or both? There may be some ice on the branch. For me there is no focal point or discernible pattern, I am lost in the composition.

Can someone please open my eyes to this and what it evokes within you, I mean this with all sincerity, thanks.
John Colbensen  I don't take offence Mark. In fact I'm pretty sure there are several others that feel the same way as you. I think Codrin wrote a very poetic answer and I couldn't agree more. I see your point in a missing focalpoint, but what I tried to portray here is an excerpt of natures beauty. I'm very often concerned about focalpoints and "correct" composition. But now and then I just "feel" the nature thus ditching "the rules". In my opinion this picture conveys a Zen moment, at least it was a Zen moment for me. I'm just happy that I get this reaction from so many. And if it didn't enthrill you in any way, at least I got you to study it for a while :) I sincerly respect your work Mark and I'm happy to answer any questions about my work. Maybe some day a picture of mine will "speak" to you :)
Mark Vincent Müller  Hi John, thanks for being graceful. I did look at you portfolio before I wrote my piece, you have wonderful work that doesn't just speak but sing! I am right there with you about breaking out of conventional compositions, I guess in the end we do see individually but that of course is the great fun of our art.
Codrin Lupei  Hi Mark, I appreciate a lot your sincerity, well, you know, if we're cuting images in some small pieces, I mean, to really dissect them, I guess that even some famous pieces could be seen just like a man jumping over a puddle or a sailor kissing a girl, a pretty girl with some fascinating eyes and so on. Indeed, I agree that many people seems to need a clear, distinct focal point, well, I don't, for example...for me what really means is what I am feeling when I see an image, if it's touching me in some way or not, this is the most important thing and I'd say that in many images the focal point is the 'whole', the 'sensation', the 'mood', a word maybe already used to much...anyway just my humble and very personal opinion. I admire your portfolio and I hope to see many more wild life images published here! Cheers! Take good care of you out there!
Mark Vincent Müller  Thanks so much Codrin for your insight, I could not agree more about your take on that an image has to speak to the heart. I guess this one will remain a mystery to me, but that is ok.
Don't really know what is it..; but it's just beautiful!!! tones are so awesome :-)
John Colbensen  It's just some bracnhes in a creek and a rock, but hopefully it's much more than that . thanks David :)
