When I left the small village of Tagong, to hike to my chosen vantage point (for the fourth evening in a row) I knew my chances of getting an image where extremely low. It was very stormy and rainy and the mountain range was 100% covered in clouds. The area to the west where the sun would set was also completely cloudy and the chance of getting any light or color was almost nonexistent. I hiked the spot anyway. I thought I only have about a 2% chance of any crazy light, or the clouds clearing, but if something does happen, with those amazing storm clouds it will be phenomenal. I was about to give up, when in about 7 minutes it went from nothing to this. One of the most incredible light shows I have ever seen.

The buildings in the foreground are either a monastery or nunnery, I am not sure which. The slightly purple tint above the buildings is from rising smoke.
