Mr. Prime Minister is not amused

This trompe-l'oeil gives the illusion that something awkward is happening to Mr. Chr. Michelsen. He is honored with a statue in his hometown Bergen as being the architect of the independence of Norway from Sweden back in 1905 and for being the first Prime Minister of the independent state. By choosing a good POV with a crane at an adjacent construction site, an awkward illusion is created that for sure would make Mr. Michelsen unhappy.

Interesting photo. From a thubnail, it looks as though someone is being hanged! I enjoy your balance between high contrast silvery midtones.

Papafrezzo Dear Frank, thank you for the comment. I see the association. The statue is made by Gustav Vigeland, known for the Vigeland park in Oslo. His style is quite massive, and the style indeed reminds of some of the Soviet-era statues. On the other hand, Mr. Michelsen was a shipping magnate and statesman, a real gentleman and member of the upper class.

P.S. Hoe moet je tegenwoordig een verbeterde versie opladen van een eerder ingezonden werk ? Met de nieuwe website vind ik dit niet meer.

Bedankt voor de commentaar. Klopt, ik heb hem twee ingestuurd; in screening en in kritiek-sectie. En nee, heb ik ook niet gevonden die optie om een verbeterde versie op te laden. Niet alle functionaliteit is behouden, maar als je wil kan je wel een verzoek indienen. Er is een thread in het forum daar voor.
