Excellent and unsual street shot:-)
Clyde Beamer  I should probably do more of this, it was a bit of a departure for me and it was fun. Venice Beach is rich with this sort of stuff!! Thanks Ben!

Like the style of this lived artist.
Your choice of composition with the couple in the background, the angle of view and your BW conversion combined all together give a strong picture
Congrats Clyde
Clyde Beamer  Thank you Fabien!!

Very cool street capture Clyde, the background, intensity and expression does it! By the way, who has a piano outside?

Cheers, Ralf
Clyde Beamer  Yes Ralf, this guy hauls that piano down to the Venice Beach boardwalk every weekend. The homeless guys that hang out down there help him load and unload it from a van. Venice has a whole subculture that make it a visually interesting place at any given moment. There's a permanent 7 day a week street faire there. A real must visit if you come to LA sometime.

And BTW, he is QUITE good at his playing. All classical and all by memory, no sheet music.

Rarely seen a street photo with so much emotion packed inside.
Clyde Beamer  A true compliment, thanks so much!

Do my eyes deceive me? Congratulations my friend. Excellent shot.
Clyde Beamer  No sir! No deceit here!! Just me and my LX5 on the frontpage!! Mark picked it!! I like the one with the expressive face but that got rejected!! But hey, it was film! The LX5 really has freed up the way I can shoot. The little thing will seemingly go just about anywhere and still make a decent shot. Really saves my old knees and back!! This was shot with the camera resting right on the raised black frame of the piano. Thank goodness the couple was standing still for a long time listening. I don't think they knew I was shooting them. The piano player did and he had given me permission to get close to him.

nice one. I like that moment of affection going on in the bg. Adds an extra dimension to the photo.

Clyde Beamer  Thanks, I'm not much at shoot people or street scenes. So, I quite happy that folks like this one.
