This is Mesa Arch...
This was my first visit to this magical place. It's probably the most popular sunrise location in Canyonlands, and that was true today too. There were 6-7 people there by sunrise... in the dead of winter... on a morning where the chance of a decent sunrise was almost non-existent.

Stunning picture! So many pictures of this place and each is a gem :) Compliments on a fine capture!
This place is just incredible. These warm colors, with snow marry a marvel. Often the charm of light and space.

Canyonlands NP is powerful beauty. I haven't gone beyond one of the easier vistas that can be driven to, although I've been all over the parks in the southwest. Are you into backpacking, etc.?

Beautiful photo, Reid.
Reid Wolcott  Thanks, I'm trying to do a little more hiking (especially now that I live in Wyoming), I haven't really done a lot of backpacking though. The hike to Mesa Arch is very short (maybe 1/4-1/2 mile) over a well groomed trail.

For what it is worth. I stand there often and count my blessings before the sunrise , then I wait. My drive from Moab from the Holiday Inn is maddening. Sometimes I wish I could live in Moab for a year.
Reid Wolcott  This was my first trip to this particular location. I've been to Arches and Canyonlands many times and this was one of the most spectacular scenes I've witnessed. I too wish I could be down there all the time...like my parents, who moved to the Moab area a few years ago.
