Beautiful. The "Eyes" are mesmerizing. Just curious, if there was any enhancement to the eyes or not?
Ingo Dumreicher  Dear Michael, thanks a lot for your nice comment. Of course the eyes are a bit edited with photoshop... ;-)

Hello, Ingo :) As always, here I am to spoil the fun.

First of all, I'm glad to see another one of your work and a new lens in use! I figured your faves were the 24-105 and 70-200 for studio work. A minor thing, but a change is always good.

Also refreshing to see something in color once again. Being a fan of your B/W shots, which are really amazing - I'd love to learn to convert like that, a change is, again, always good.

Now, don't get me wrong - the photo is quite nice, easily noticed by your usuall sense of aesthetics. But, I figured, there will be plenty of people to tell you that without me! I mean, look at all those happy commenters. Proves the shot is good. Good, but not as good as it could be.

My biggest complain is her arm. Do you see how bright and intrusive it is? It's as bright as the face of the beautiful model, but we want to be looking into the face, not her arm, which should come much later! Yet now the arm draws too much attention. An easy sollution would be to have it slightly less bright than the face, and also more out of focus, in a different plain, to make that face pop, undistracted.

Another thing, again with the arm, is how unnaturally it looks size-wise. You cut off her elbow, which makes it look slighly too heavy (I was tempted to use the word "fat", but it doesn't quite say it the way I'd like to). It's not as gracefull as it could be. A shadow running down one side of it would've helped to make it look slightly smaller, especially compared to the face.

Finally, look at the picture as a whole, and then into the girls face. Do you see how the hand separates it, makes it look as if there's the head, and there's the rest of her body lying somewhere? In my opinion, her face is framed in a rather disturbing way. The two parts are two parts, and not one, as it should be.

I'm not really a person who could point out the mistakes you make and don't make, so pardon my wish to do it nonetheless. But I believe we learn from the mistakes (if they're mistakes - I'd like to make it sound as my opinion and nothing more than that) we make rather than the successes.

As always - my best wishes to you,
R.
Ingo Dumreicher  Dear Romanas,

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for spending time here. I really love critical comments. That's what I wrote in my photographers profile and I do appreciate! :-) But I am very sorry not to agree in your mentioned points. I don't feel the face distracted from the rest of her body, nor do I think, that her arm is "too heavy". My Model "Anne" is a very tiny bit more than other 08/15-Models... ;-) So it's just the truth, what is shown.

To lighting: This photo is a high-key photo. So I don't really mind about "what is the lightest point, what draws the most attention". I think the lighting is well balanced and just the eyes are drawing MY attention. But don't misunderstand me: Everyone has a different point of view, different taste. And that IS GOOD! So if you think, this photography is not one of my best - that's fine. Be sure, that I will do my VERY best, to satisfy you completely in my next pictures... ;-)

Again: Your words are DEFINITELY VERY HIGH appreciated!!! :-)

All the best to you, too, dear Romanas!
Ingo

Romanas N.  The fact that you knew exactly what you were doing is enough for me, Ingo :)

And, please, make sure YOU love your own work and don't worry about me one bit, I'm not important.

I sure hope that one day we'll be able to discuss each others work face to face, that would be fun :)

Congrats on the new season, I hope I'll see some outdoors work soon!
Ingo Dumreicher  Oh, you're wrong: You ARE important to me. Every person who has a OWN opinion and a heart to speak it out load, IS important! So don't worry, if I didn't shared your arguments. Maybe next time I will. So never give up telling me honest words! :-)
Romanas N.  Oh, dear Ingo, you'll be sorry you ever said that ;) Don't worry, I won't be holding out on you. Still, you just make sure you like what you do! It's the whole point, the whole pleasure of doing photography, making art, isn't it?
Ingo Dumreicher  Of course I agree. But it's also a nice thing, to make other persons happy... ;-)
Romanas N.  Oh, by all means - do make me happy, please, by continuously updating your portfolio here. ;) I feel myself getting slightly better at what I do simply by looking at your work and studying it.

Simple but good point of view. It makes the observant-situation very intimate, but - and this is maybe the point here - without any trace of voyerism. Really well done - and a truly charming model.
Ingo Dumreicher  Danke Dir, Raimund. Sehr schöne Worte... :-)
